The most anticipated film of Suriya this year is ‘Kanguva’. Although made with a high budget the film has been struggling at the box office since day 2 of the launch. On 14th November opening day, it made just Rs 24 Cr. After this, it never crossed 20 Cr collection in a day. Now after 15 Days Whats the status? The total collection is still under 100 Cr. This means even the movie budget has not recovered till now.

Occupancy Rate
The films occupancy rate is also reflecting struggles in box office. It managed to get 10.41% occupancy in Tamil version. Where Morning shows were 8.49%, afternoon shows were 12.26% and evening shows were 10.48%. If you look at the Hindi screen occupancy then its worse, it only managed to get 5.11% occupancy.
Cast & Budget
Suriya played two main characters of the movie one is Kanguva itself and the other one is Francis Theodore. You can see Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Redin Kingsly, Yogi Babu, Natarajan Subramaniam in the film as well.
The movie ‘Kanguva’ was made with a budget of Rs 350 Cr. Where Suriya took Rs 39 Cr as his acting fees. Bobby Deol and Disha Patani got Rs 5 cr and Rs 3 Cr.
Review & Ratings
‘Kanguva’ has mixed reviews from viewers, some praised Suriya’s acting performance but some said as the movie was showing two timelines it lacked connection, and viewers ar not able to connect properly with the film. According to some people second half was better with stunning visuals and a climax.
The film ‘Kanguva’ got a 5.4 rating out of 10 on the IMDb platform. Where viewers said the movie lacked emotional depth, it struggled with storytelling and character development. On Book My Show it got 6.5 out of 10.
