Change in Free Ration Items for December! How much Rice, Wheat will you get? Check list

To provide food security for poor and needy people state government and central government have started the Free Ration Scheme. In this scheme ration card holders get free ration items like rice, and wheat according to their cards. On starting of every month list of these items is released. What items will be given in December? Let’s check out the lists.

In West Bengal, there are mainly three types of ration cards available. AAY Cards, RKSY-I and RKSY-II cards, and SPHH & PHH card. Not all cards get the same some card gets the most amount of ration and some get the least.

AAY Ration Card

If you have AAY ration card then you will receive 21 Kg of rice, 14 Kg of wheat, or 13 Kg 300 grams of wheat per card for free. AAY Card holders will also get 1 kg of sugar, but the rate of sugar can be known at the ration shop.

SPHH and PHH Ration Card

These are Special Priority Household and Priority Household Cards. If your family members have this kind of ration card, then for each card 2.5 Kg of rice and 2.5 Kg of wheat or 1 Kg 900 grams will be given per card.

RKSY-I and RKSY-II Ration Card

Thes card holders used to receive 5 kg of rice per card for free. But later the amount of free rice was reduced to 2 kg per card only. So now if you have RKSY-I or RKSY-II cards you will receive 2 kg of rice for free.

Apart from these cards, people of Jangalmahal get a special package that provides them with some extra ration items. Apart from Jangalmahal people who works in Tea Gardens will also get some extra ration items in December.
