‘Amaran’ Box Office Collection sees Big Drop on 2nd Week, Aims for Rs 250 Crore Worldwide

‘Amaran’, the Tamil war drama movie witnessed boost in performance in the second week. After releasing on 31st October box office collections dropped on Monday. The film is based on the true story of Major Mukund Varnadarajan featuring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi.

‘Amaran’ Box Office Performance

‘Amaran’ has already crossed the 150 Crore mark in the Box Office collection in its second week. But it looks struggling to reach the 200 Crore mark. As of now, film’s current collection is near about Rs 159 Crore. It made a business of 114.15 Crores in the first week. Last Sunday and Monday collections also showed significant growth but yesterday it struggled to cross the 5 Crore mark.

Including Mondays 5.25 Crore collection ‘Amaran’ has made a total of Rs 159 Crore in box office collection. Also the film has already crossed Rs 250 Crore mark in Global Collections.

Occupancy in Theaters and Territorial Breakdown

As a regional film most occupancies are in southern states. Tamil Nadu has the highest grossing number of Rs 122.75 Cr and Kerala has Rs 9.25. Rest of India crossed only 3 Crore mark.

If we look into the occupancy rates in Tamil Nadu in on Monday evening shows and night shows has 34.58% and 32.22% occupancy rates. Morning and afternoon shows are on lower side like 22.68% and 27.12%.

Amaran movie Story

‘Amaran’ is a true-life story of Major Mukund Varadarajan, a commissioned officer in the Indian Army`s Rajput Regiment. The movie shows his heroic sacrifices in the Qazipathri Operation in 2014. Showing the struggles indian soliders faces during combat.

The movie is made with a budget of Rs 130 Crore. It is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. The producers of ‘Amaran’ are Kamal Haasan, R. Mahendran, Vivek Krishnani.Accordint to reports actress Sai Pallavi got Rs 3 Crore for the film and Sivakarthikeyan got Rs 30 Crores.
