31 Lakh Farmers May Not Get 21st Installment, Big Update Of PM Kisan

A major update for consumers of PM Kisan. The 21st installment could be cancelled by close to 31 lakh farmers. The majority of the names on the list are not eligible, according to the government. There is a new verification drive in progress. If the details don’t match, payments will be suspended.

Small and marginal farmers get ₹6,000 annually via the PM Kisan Yojana. Three payments of ₹2,000 each are made. According to officials, several farmers provided inaccurate land data. Others had non-farming incomes or had incorrect Aadhaar IDs. The Center has requested that states review all of their documents.

Farmers need to update their bank details, complete e-KYC, and use the PM Kisan portal to confirm their land ownership. Payment rejection may result from incomplete or inaccurate data. The government aims to make sure that the incentives are being given to genuine farmers. This is not a novel idea. In the 20th installment, a number of accounts were banned or disabled. According to officials, this action is being taken to preserve public money and stop fraud. Only once the review is completed will the 21st installment be made available.

Farmers can visit the official PM Kisan portal to check their names and update details if needed. The ₹2,000 installment might be cancelled by those who fail to update their information. Verification first, payment latter is the government’s clarified message.

Three key rules will decide who stays on the list.

  1. One Beneficiary Per Family: Only one member can receive the benefit. If both husband and wife are listed, one will be removed.
  2. Age Requirement: Only farmers 18 years and above qualify. Accounts in the names of minors will be deleted.
  3. Land Ownership: Only those who owned farmland before February 1, 2019, are eligible. Anyone who bought land after that date will not get funds.

Officials have urged all beneficiaries to ensure their information is correct to avoid losing the 21st installment payment.
