The Government has launched many schemes to improve the social and economic standards of women. Today we are going to tell you about one of the most popular schemes ‘Mahila Samman Savings Certificate’ or MSSC. This scheme gives women great opportunities to invest and grow their money.

Mahila Smman Savings Certificate

Announced in 2023, this scheme allows women to invest up to Rs 2 Lakh for 2 Years. It also gives higher interest rates than any other bank’s normal savings schemes. Usually, it will give 7.5% per annum interest Thus ensuring women’s empowerment and financial security for girls.

Benefits of MSSC Account

This account can be opened by any Woman or Girl Child’s parents. It allows a minimum deposit of Rs 2000 and a maximum deposit of 2 lakh. If you invest in this scheme you will get higher returns than traditional fixed deposits in banks.

Not only this but the interest for the deposit amount will be calculated every three months. Once you invest in this scheme it will mature after 2 years. Apart from this interest earned in this scheme is free from TDS.

Pre Mature Withdrawal

In case of emergency, money can be taken out of this savings scheme. Account holders can withdraw up to 40% once it reaches one year.

Pre Mature Closure of Account

If for any reason account holder has to close the account 7.5% interest will not be given. It will get 5.5% interest and the account can be closed after six months.
