India’s stake in the issue?
Indian authorities were questioned by global apex health institution, whether the syrup was exported to other nations as well.
However, as Reuters reported that The Indian health authorities confirmed that none of the contaminated medicines were exported, and the US also verified that these toxic cough syrups were not shipped to their country.
Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has asked all State governments to submit a list of cough syrup manufacturers while initiating a joint audit of these companies, reported by The Hindu. It stated that the products have been recalled, and the specified manufacturers have been directed to halt the production of all their medical products.
