Maxwell Engineering Solutions opened at Rs 300.20 on NSE Emerge on Friday, 6 November, a 90 percent premium to its Rs 158 issue price. Allottees gained Rs 142.20 on every share at the opening print, and the stock touched an intraday high of Rs 314.80 before easing to about Rs 299, according to HDFC Sky.

A Book Built On Very Few Shares
The offer was subscribed 536.80 times overall, the final tally reported by the Economic Times and India Today. Moneycontrol, tracking the book through the 30 October to 3 November window, put it at 491.39 times at the close, with 128.94 crore shares bid, 5.06 lakh applications and bids worth about Rs 20,372 crore. Non institutional investors led at 857.65 times, retail investors at 556.09 times and qualified institutions at 259.45 times.
The issue was entirely fresh, 36.48 lakh new shares with no offer for sale, so all of the Rs 57.64 crore went to the company rather than to selling shareholders. The band was Rs 150 to 158 and the lot 800 shares. Retail applicants had to buy two lots, a minimum cheque of Rs 2,52,800. Anchor investors put in Rs 16.18 crore on 29 October; half that book stays locked until 3 December and the rest until 1 February 2027. JDA Capital Services was lead manager and KFin Technologies the registrar.

What The Company Actually Makes
Maxwell Engineering Solutions is not a consumer business that stumbled into the limelight. It makes precision components for underwater pelletizing systems: die plates, blades and knives, blade holders and cutter hubs, tapped driving bushes and spares, sold into polymer compounding, masterbatch, engineering plastics, cable compounds and plastics recycling. Manufacturing was 62.84 percent of FY26 revenue. Its Waghodia GIDC plant in Vadodara began operating in July 2025 and employs 72 people, and exports were 84.73 percent of FY26 revenue. The promoters are Rajkumar Chaudhary, Vinubhai Kanjibhai Chavda and Ria Rajkumar Chaudhary.
The Numbers The Pop Has To Catch Up With
Revenue rose from Rs 10.54 crore in FY24 to Rs 22.10 crore in FY25 and Rs 29.45 crore in FY26, about 67 percent compounded annually by our calculation. Net income moved from Rs 3.16 crore to Rs 9.18 crore and then Rs 11.86 crore. The first four months of FY27 show Rs 11.88 crore of revenue and Rs 3.05 crore of profit, but the margin falls to 25.67 percent from 40.28 percent, the pattern of a new plant depreciating before it ramps.
What Rs 300 Now Assumes
At Rs 158 the company was valued at about Rs 216 crore on 1.37 crore post issue shares, or 18.25 times FY26 earnings per share of Rs 8.66, the valuation disclosed in the red herring prospectus. At Rs 300.20 the same arithmetic gives a market capitalisation near Rs 411 crore and a trailing multiple of roughly 34.7 times. The listing pop did not create earnings, it removed the discount. Analysis: the peer set sharpens the point, since Omnitech Engineering traded at 99 times and Sunita Tools at 100.65 times earnings. That makes 34.7 times look cheap beside them and rich beside Maxwell’s own growth, which is the case for reading SME engineering as a scarcity trade rather than an earnings trade.
The proceeds go mostly to capacity: Rs 18 crore for machinery and laboratory equipment, Rs 6.5 crore for a new office building and manufacturing facility, Rs 4.3 crore to repay borrowings and Rs 14 crore for working capital.
The Risks Worth Watching
Three things sit under the 90 percent print. The revenue base is export heavy, so the order book depends on polymer processors outside India and on a rupee that has been volatile. The customer set is narrow by design, because die plates are a consumable bought by a limited number of compounding lines, and one large buyer scaling back would show up quickly in a Rs 29 crore base. And the Rs 2,52,800 minimum means the 556 times retail subscription was written by applicants who could block Rs 2.5 lakh for a week. For readers tracking the stock, the dates that matter are the anchor lock in expiries on 3 December and 1 February.
