Lab-Grown Diamond Jewellery Brand Zinara Raises Rs 3.61 Crore in Pre-Seed Funding

Lab-grown diamond jewellery brand Zinara has raised Rs 3.61 crore in a pre-seed funding round, betting that diamond jewellery in India can become an everyday purchase instead of a wedding-only one. The Delhi NCR startup said the money will help it reach more customers and tighten its supply chain as it scales.

Inflection Point Ventures (IPV) led the round, with participation from jewellery maker Nine Jewellery, actor Nikita Dutta and a group of other angel investors.

The Zinara funding round and its investors

Zinara did not disclose a valuation for the pre-seed round. IPV has backed several early-stage consumer and consumer-tech brands, and its co-founder Vinay Bansal framed the Zinara bet around three changes in how Indians buy jewellery.

“Zinara is operating at the intersection of three shifts which is shaping the future of jewellery consumption in India: the rise of the design-conscious consumer, the growing acceptance of lab-grown diamonds, and the demand for accessible price points,” Bansal said.

Nine Jewellery, an established name in the trade, and Nikita Dutta joined as investors, the company said. The mix of a consumer-focused fund, an industry player and a public figure suggests a category that is still early in India.

How Zinara will use the fresh capital

The startup will use the funds to expand its team, step up marketing and strengthen its supply-chain infrastructure, it said. The company wants to grow its business across India.

That is a fairly standard list for a young brand, but the supply-chain line carries more weight in jewellery than in most categories. Lab-grown stones still have to be sourced, graded and set, and any delay there shows up directly in delivery times and in the customer experience.

Business model and early traction

Zinara runs a digital-first model and sells contemporary designs made with lab-grown diamonds and 18K gold vermeil, which is gold plating over a sterling silver base. The company said its portfolio has grown past 400 designs and that it has crossed Rs 1 crore in annual recurring revenue.

On its website, Zinara advertises lifetime buyback, exchange and free replating for the jewellery it sells. Those offers address the trust question that holds many first-time buyers back from shopping for diamonds online.

Lab-grown diamonds are produced in controlled environments using methods such as high-pressure high-temperature (HPHT) and chemical vapour deposition (CVD). They are chemically similar to mined stones but cost far less, which is central to Zinara’s push into lower price points.

Background and the founders

Zinara was founded by IIT Delhi alumni Harshit Abrol and Sumanyu Vyas. Abrol is co-founder and chief executive. The founders keep returning to one idea: diamond jewellery should not stay reserved for special occasions.

“The next chapter of diamond jewellery in India will be about making it part of everyday life,” Abrol said.

The Delhi NCR base puts Zinara close to one of India’s largest consumer markets and to a jewellery manufacturing ecosystem, which matters for a brand that wants both design speed and reliable supply.

What happens next

Zinara joins a growing group of Indian labels trying to take lab-grown diamonds mainstream. For now it is a small pre-seed bet, and the company has not shared a revenue target or a timeline for a larger round.

The near-term test is execution: whether Zinara can turn its 400-plus designs, its buyback promises and its digital-first reach into repeat purchases at everyday price points, and whether the strengthened supply chain keeps delivery times tight as order volumes grow. The founders have said the plan is to grow across India, and the pre-seed money is meant to fund that first push.
