RBI Releases 2027 Calendar for Class-I Officer Recruitment

Published on:

The Reserve Bank of India has published its recruitment calendar for 2027, giving aspirants an early look at when notifications for Class-I officer posts will be issued and when the written examinations are expected to be held. The schedule covers eight posts across generalist, technical, legal, protocol and language streams.

Which posts the RBI has scheduled

For Officers in Grade B (Direct Recruitment) in the General, DEPR and DSIM streams, the notification is expected in February 2027. The Phase 1 examination is planned for April 2027 and Phase 2 for May or June 2027.

Officers in Grade A (Direct Recruitment) General will have to wait longer, with the notification likely in July 2027 and a single stage examination in September 2027.

Manager (Technical-Civil) and Manager (Technical-Electrical) are both expected to be advertised in February 2027, followed by single stage tests in March or April. Legal Officer Grade B, Assistant Manager (Protocol and Security) and Assistant Manager (Rajbhasha) follow the same window.

Vacancy numbers are still not known

The calendar lists only the months in which each post is likely to be advertised and the examination window that follows. It does not mention how many vacancies will be filled in any stream. The central bank has said the number of posts, educational qualifications, age limits, the closing date for applications and other conditions will be part of the detailed advertisement for each recruitment.

No application window is open at present, so the document works as a planning aid rather than a notification.

What candidates should do with this timeline

With the first notifications roughly three months away, aspirants have a clear preparation runway. Those targeting Grade B can align revision with an April Phase 1 paper, while candidates for technical, legal or assistant manager roles should prepare for a single stage test in March or April.

Candidates should follow the official RBI website for the detailed advertisements, since calendar dates are indicative and can move. Age proof, educational certificates and category documents are worth assembling now, well before any form goes live.
