Credfix, a Bengaluru startup that uses artificial intelligence to help people work through debt problems, has raised Rs 16.1 crore (roughly $1.66 million) in a seed funding round led by Tanglin Venture Partners, with Stargazer also participating.
The company said the fresh capital will be used to accelerate product development, strengthen its AI capabilities and expand the borrower support network it runs across India.
About The Round And The Investors
Tanglin Venture Partners led the seed round, with Stargazer joining as an additional backer. This is the second time Credfix has raised money. The startup had earlier collected Rs 4.5 crore from K2 Capital, Invstt Trust and a group of angel investors.
Shashank Sabesan, a principal at Tanglin Venture Partners, said the investment rests on a simple idea. Borrowers who are guided properly are more likely to repay, he said, and that creates value for everyone in the credit ecosystem. Early demand, he added, was strong enough to justify backing the founding team as it scales.
What Credfix Builds
Credfix is built for the point after a borrower has already missed a payment. It helps people understand what they owe and what options are open to them, and it supports them through conversations with lenders, recovery agents and legal notices.
Three products sit inside the platform. Risi is an AI financial assistant that explains a borrower’s debt and points to possible resolution routes. Neytra, described as an AI call shield, helps users handle recovery calls, prepares call summaries and documents possible concerns about collection practices. The third is an AI legal assistant that helps borrowers read legal notices and prepare draft responses for their own review. The wider service list covers debt assessment, loan resolution, loan consolidation and AI-powered legal guidance.

Traction And The Wider Market
The company says it currently serves more than two lakh borrowers who together carry over Rs 4,000 crore in aggregate outstanding debt. Around 40 per cent of its users, it says, come from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
India has built a large credit distribution machine, but relatively little infrastructure exists to help people when repayment becomes difficult. That gap has started to draw funded startups. FREED, a borrower-focused debt relief platform, raised Rs 60 crore in February 2026 in a round led by Aavishkaar Capital. Credgenics, which works on the collections and litigation side for lenders, has raised $50 million. CredResolve, which builds AI-powered debt collections infrastructure, raised a pre-Series A round led by Merak Ventures in April 2026.
Background And The Founders
Credfix was founded in 2025 by Ranjan Agarwal, Neeraj Kulkarni and Ayush Kedia. Agarwal said financial distress usually arrives with confusion and anxiety, and often with no trustworthy guidance to fall back on. The company, he said, is using AI to simplify one of the most complicated financial experiences a person can go through.
Kulkarni framed the problem as fragmentation. Resolving a loan usually means dealing with lenders, recovery agencies and legal processes that do not talk to each other. Credfix wants to bring that journey onto a single platform.
What Happens Next
With the new funding, Credfix will look to deepen its AI models and widen its borrower support network in a debt resolution market that is still taking shape in India. The funding was first reported by Entrackr and The Economic Times, and the figures above match the company’s own announcement.
